HP ENVY 700-203eo
Windows 8.1

Hi,

HP ENVY 700-203eo/Windows 8.1

I'm trying to burn an .iso image to DVD but it fails with error code 0xC0AA0301.

I have also tried burning the DVD using the included bloatware Power2Go, with similar result. Downloaded and tried ImgBurn - which also failed.

Anybody able to help out?

Thanks,

Thor Egil

Hello @ThorEgil,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I understand that your desktop is not able to burn DVDs using multiple programs, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!

To enable your system to burn to CDs once again, I recommend following the steps in this document on CD or DVD Drive Cannot Burn Discs (Windows 😎. I would also suggest booting your system into Safe Mode to see if a service or background application is causing a conflict when your are burning DVDs.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

Thanks.

Step 1 in the linked document fixed the problem. The DVD burner works fine with DVD+R disks.

The Product Spec page http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04121554 claims it is compatible with DVD-R disks, but this is now proven to be wrong.
