CCC error yet again... Still cant find a fix [ Edited ]

Hello, im sorry if this is a repeat post, but I've tried everything I've seen and read and still cannot find a fix.

Im using a hp pavilion hpe h8-1050

Windows 7 -64bit

I've only just upgraded the videocard to a

Diamond Radeon HD 7970 3GB PCI-E Video Card

I also updated windows with all the windows updates and other updates recommended

I tried a fresh reformat of my PC and used the CD included and CCC still wont load, it just pauses and does nothing anyway I try to open it. I also formatted again and didnt use the CD and downloaded the drivers off the website and still had the same problem... Im stuck with what to do, I've tired everything I've read in the other posts, maybe I missed something.. Sorry for the repost but I do appreciate any help. Thanks again.

Still no luck, tired all those steps and still didnt work... When I was in Safemode nothing in Program Files or x86 that were AMD,ATI etc related, also no Public Key Token "90ba9c70f846762e" in C:\Windows\assembly

I may have to reformat but im not sure that will even make any difference anymore.

It for so reason switched my sound to my HDMI Montior instead of my speakers after the first install, would that have anything to do with anything? I just changed it back to my speakers and muted my montior.

Hi,

Please explain what you mean by a fresh reformat.  Did you do a clean installation of Windows or did you just use the HP Recovery method?

If you did use HP Recovery, then delete out and remove the CCC before attempting to install the driver from the AMD web site.  Check out the hot fixes.

Frankly, I don't see how a 11.6" video card would even fit inside the typical HP mini-tower cabinet. Besides, the power requirements indicate the need for an eight pin PCI-E power connector and one 6 pin PCI-E power connector.  I would be surprised if HP even had a psu with an eight pin power connector in the hp8 series PCs.

I did the Factory Method, then just deleted out the old CCC then made sure it was all clean.

I also made sure I had all the windows updates installed as well, and installed the new CCC last. That seemed to work. It wouldnt fit in the factory size tower that HP build the PC in; I swapped it into a CoolMaster HAF 922 and also added a CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX so that it would have the appropriate power supply.
