A power surge caused my HP Pavillion Media Ctr. m8457c PC to stop functioning. We have replaced the power supply which was successful in restoring power. However, we get the message the CPU fan has failed and it automatically shut down.
We tried following information about this error message but the system will not let us utilise the F10 method to get to the Bios. Our next thought is to replace the CPU fan, if I can find out the correct fan to use for it. Does anyone have any experience with this problem or know which fan I should get?

Open the case, and observe the CPU fan. Is it spinning, or does it actually stop?
Did you bump the leads off their posts on the motherboard?
The CPU fan should be an 80mm fan 3 wire. Here is how to measure (although a 92mm rear case fan is shown).
