Hi, since yesterday when I powered on my HP Pavilion h8-1120it HPE the CPU fan and rear cooling fun are always running at full speed and they never stop. I did nothing no hardware changes, no software changes. Two days I go I work all the day without problems, I switch off as usual the PC, I go to bed and then yesterday morning I powered on and now I have that problem. The PC is new (I bougth it 1 months ago). There are no temperature problems (now I've 19°C on my computer room).
Reading other similar post I supposed that could be a bios problem. The bios version is 7.11 I tryed to see if there is an update of it but I canno't find any bios update for Pavilion h8-1120it HPE .
I burned a CD with HP Vision Hardware Diagnostic and I run the fun tests and they all passes. During those tests the fun seem to reach the right speed in the test progression.
I've notice this strange thing: when I bought the PC I immediatly enabled in the bios the use of VT to use hardeware virtualization with VMWare player. Yesterday I found this setting changed and disabled and this is very strange because I didn't modify the bios values.
What can I do? The noise of the funs at full speed is impressive I can't work on this conditions!!
Thanks

Hi,
I would continue to monitor the VT enable parameter in the bios. If it keeps changing then you may have an issue with your PC. If VMware is the underlying operating then perhaps the the fan issue is a VMware issue. This can be determined by booting Windows 7 natively and then monitor the fans.

Hi,
I don't think this could be a VMWare issue. I've got the fans running at full speed immediatly just after switching on the PC even in the PC POST and even if I navigate through the bios settings I've the issue. From the moment that I switch on the pc they never stop or slow down.
The PC operating system is Windows 7 and it is the which one it was installed when I bought the PC. I just installed the wmware player because sometimes I need to use another OS do to my stuff. But I did it immediatly, I worked without any problem for about a month and now suddendly three days ago I got this issue. The only new and different thing that I did in the last weeks is that I bougth an external hard disk usb 3.0 and I plugged it on the PC. But now it is unplugged.
Any other idea? Could be an hardware issue?
Regards,
Davide

Hi,
I do know that some video cards fans run high speed until Windows is loaded and that is why I had asked about booting Windows 7 natively. (perhaps 2 or more times)
Boot into the bios and go to the Power topic and then Thermal. What are the fan speed readings when your PC is cold?
Do you see a flashing power button by chance?

Hi,
yesterday I watch that values (just a few seconds after the PC switch on) and the first one was in the range of 4000-4200 rpm and the second one was about 3500.
Today I just switch on the PC (few minutes ago) and problem seems gone. The fan speed values are about 1200 and 1000 and there is not noise. I don't know what I could think of it. I've got three days of hell with the fans at full speed and now doing nothing the problem is gone. What can I do if the problem reappears?
Thanks for now
Davide

Hi,
There are not many fans rated for 4,000 RPM. With that type of fan RPM coupled with your observation that VT disappeared then your PC seems to have a problem.
Perhaps it's time to contact HP Support.
HP's support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.

Ok. I monitored the PC in the last days and it seems that the problem is definitly gone. If it will reappear I'll contact the HP support as you suggest.
Thanks
