Hello! I was wondering if I just changed the power supply to a higher 700w could my
HP Pavilion HPE h8-1050 handle or hold the Diamond Radeon HD 7970 3GB PCI-E Video Card?
I have Windows 7 64-bit and 16G ram.
Still getting used to the upgrades so would really appreicate any help, Thanks alot.

Yes as the VGA card needs a minimum of 500W PSU.
regarding the specs of your pc - you shouldnt worry about it as your motherboard can handle any pci-e.

At almost 12 inches long it is unlikely that this card will fit in your h8-1050. Please measure inside your computer along the PCIe x16 slot for clearance. Also, most 700 watt power supplies will not fit in your case. The Corsair CX600 is only slightly bigger than a stock HP power supply and is a forum favorite, as well as being highly recommended. Please see Big_Dave's Guide for Selecting a Discrete Video Card for more indformation.

I have a AMD Radeon 6850 in at the moment, is the 7970 a lot bigger then that?
Well just checked and looks like id have enough room for 12" no problem but depending where the fan
is on top of the card, it might be under my CD drive, which Im sure is no good... Well I guess I either return the card or buy and make myself a new tower. Any other suggestions? and would it be a lot of work pulling everything out of this one and making a new tower? Thanks a lot for the help appreciate it.
Also would 20.5" x 7.3" x 16.5" be a big enough tower for a 7970?
Thanks again.
