DVD rom Won't Work

i have a model HP hp p6340d
my DVD rom looks working and visible on the device manager without a yellow mark
but it is not working..
it can't read DVDs or CDs anyone have a solution for my problems

NOTE: After removing these registry keys and rebooting, it may be necessary to reinstall any CD or DVD recording applications.

The Microsoft fixit for CD\DVD drives is also a great troubleshooter and far safer than editing the registry.
