My machine will not boot. The diagnostic test reflects this message: BioHD-4 unitialized/corrupt boot structure detected. What do I need to do in order to correct this problem? Machine is Compaq Presario KJ384AA-ABA

That message generally means that the hard drive might be bad. Do you have a set of the HP recovery disks? See if this article helps.

Thank you, Big Dave! My son wanted me to take the computer to the shop, but I went to the article you referenced in your post. The key for us was opening the command prompt with the recovery disk and using the bootrec commands. It's back up and running. Thanks again!
