Ethernet connection failed on my Compaq Presario CQ5320F, need replacement, Windows 7 Home edition?

My eithernet connect will not work, we believe it was struck by lightening.  I need to replace ethernet card, I believe. 

What card do I get?

Hi:

 

Your PC has an onboard network controller, so yes you will need to get an add on card.

 

You have the internal choices of a PCI network card or a PCIe x1 network card.

 

You have the external choice of a USB to RJ-45 network adapter.

 

You can start looking for the kind you want by looking at this page.
