Flashing light on power supply

Hello to you all from a newbie

The power supply on my HP Pavilion has started to flash when I connect the power. Nothing happens when I push the power button on front panel.

If I leave the machine for 5/10 minutes the light stops flashing and I can the power up. Everything then works as normal till next time.

Have checked all leads. If I unplug all external connection it makes no difference.

Is my power supply on the way out?

Pavilion Model number?

The link to the HP Power Supply troubleshooting you were already given is perfect for this issue. Read the part in the webpage about the flashing light. Try to reset it  following the instructions before you consider replacing it.

Re: Flashing light on power supply

Yes. That would have been nice, but if you have it already sorted and a new PSU was the culprit then life is good.

abrundanradu,

You will e better served if you repost your inquiry in the laptop forum.
