G drive showing faint

G drive is showing faint but the isnt even a drive loaded . I dismounted all external drives but its still showing G but its faint . What is that ?

Identify your HP desktop and post the operating system if you are really looking for help.

 

If your desktop has an SD card reader installed then each slot wil show up as a drive.

Yeah its a HP G5350 UK Win7 . I recently took out the hard drive to  clone it and in the process I took some usb leads out, like an idiot kinda forgot where they went but I put them back. It all seems fine apart from this faint drive. Oh and it does have a card reader but it never showed faint before, it never showed at all unless I had a card in it .

Ok. The following image is of your PC's motherboard setup.

Either of the two that I put a square around can be used for the SD card connection.

I m unsure as those are not standard motherboard usb headers.

 

The two standard headers are the ones that I pointed out.

 

You will have to take a look at the connectors in your  PC and compare them to the ones that you are referring to.
