I recently bought a gtx 750ti card for this computer, and the integrated sound is disabled now. Which, I understand will happen as the graphics card also has a sound card portion to it. Now, I do not have a HDMI display with sound, and I do not wish to purchase one, so that route is not an option for me.

My question is: is it possible to force-enable the integrated sound, or, do I absolutely have no alternative but to use a seperate sound card now?

Also: the PSU has been upgraded with no problems, the graphics card works fine with it. In bios for this motherboard (angelica2) there is no option to turn on integrated sound on for me, it's simply not there.

Turns out the issue was simply a shoddy power supply.

I think the lesson here is to not skimp on your psu like I did, you'll save yourself some trouble if you get something good.

Hi:

I think on some of the nVidia cards--even when they don't come with a HDMI out port, still have the audio chip on the board.

I recommend you go into the BIOS, find the onboard audio setting, and change it to Enabled if it is set to Auto or Disabled.

Save the setting where you made the change, and again when you exit.

If there is no onboard audio setting at all, then I have no idea what you are going to do except to add an audio card.

The motherboard specs state this:

*Integrated audio is not available if a sound card is installed.
  • Built-in High Definition 7.1 channel audio
  • Audio codec: IDT 92HD89E

If that also includes the HDMI portion of the video, there may not be a BIOS setting to change.

Yea, the onboard audio isn't there, with any combination of hardware. I'm just going to get another sound card and hope it works.

I should probably note that I did have another sound card with the graphics card before, and when I had both it would crash my computer when playing games. I thought it was the sound card and/or the drivers for it until I played skyrim with no sound hardware/software installed and it still crashed in a few seconds. Just to clarify the situation for anyone who might have the same problem.

Glad you got the problem resolved.
