@yardenos

HP admin long ago made it clear not to recommend graphics cards that don't meet the manufacturer's minimum power supply wattage size.

x1 means slot lane(s) and not PCI-E version.

The PSU in the 8300 is a HP proprietary model power supply.

I suggest you contact HP Support for further assistance.  HP Support should be able to recommend the proper graphics card for your PC.

In gaming as well as in the home entertainment realm there is a need for high quality graphics. There are several small scale graphics cards that are available for the mini cases including the Mini ITX Case. With the smaller graphics cards however the user may be sacrificing the quality that they would be getting from a larger machine. A graphics card in a computer is the device that will make the images on the screen appear smooth, and clean, and have a steady streaming quality. When a graphics card cannot handle the amount of graphics information that is being fed to the computer there can be problems. Here´s a bit of info about graphic cards related especially to mini ITX cases.

I have a slimline Pavilion s5760uk desktop, I am looking to upgrade graphics card and psu having upgraded to 8gb Ram. Can you recommend items that will fit the slimline tower, and are they worthwhile upgrades for modern games etc or should I be looking at newer system?
HP Recommended

Hi,

Slimline PCs were not meant for gaming, especially modern games.  I suggest a newer PC if you expect to run modern games as the level designed by the developers.

You have a UK model HP PC so check the UK HP sales site for a model that has a NVIDIA 970, 980 or equivalent performing graphics card.

Last week I bought a new Pavilion 550-029 and am thinking of putting in a Corsair CX430M and a ASUS GeForce GTX 750 Ti. I think it should be ok, but I could use a 2nd opinion as I haven't done any hardware work for quite a while and I don't want to overlook something.

Hi,

Open up the PC and read the label on the power supply.  What does it say?   Please post an image of the power supply label. Take some measurements to ensure that your proposed equipment will fit.

Do you konw whether "GTX 750 Ti SC" works with HP Pavilion p7-1439. If not, any other recommendation?
