Re: HELP! How to Overclock my CPU?

you can't overclock your cpu. the only pc HP ever sold to my knowledge with an unlocked bios, which would allow you to overclock, was the blackbird 002.  i have been an hp customer for a very long time. should you buy or build a computer you could overclock you would be better served searching google. no one would spoon feed you that much information on any forum. there are plenty of guides out there and many that are very specific for the motherboard of your choice. for example, here is the LINK to the nvidia guide for my motherboard in .pdf. Re: HELP! How to Overclock my CPU?

But I already unlock the BIOs password few month ago, so would it still be possible to overclock?

You could possibly overclock if you went to the motherboard manufacturer's site and find a bios firmware for your board.

Re: HELP! How to Overclock my CPU?

You might be able to find software tp dp a small OC but the most ideal thing is the motherboard bios, HP locks it up tight so you cannot make it better and blow up the crappy motherboards HP sells with the unit.  Buy new motherboard and case switch it all over.

Re: HELP! How to Overclock my CPU?

Your better off to build/buy a new system.  I recently purchased and hpe-130f. With a quad-core @ 3.0 Ghz there is no need for me to overclock as I have yet to even get to 50% cpu usage.

Re: HELP! How to Overclock my CPU?

My Blackbird is very simlar to yours except for having a Kentsfield Q6600 Quad core processor.  Which BIOS are you using?  I am using the latest 5.6 HP one.  I've tried the Asus ones too but I never have much luck overclocking because when I read what settings other people are using I can never find them all in my BIOS.  This has been very frustrating and for about 3 years I think.  Right now I have it overclocked only 20% using that AI Overclock or whatever its called in the BIOS  that lets you automatically OC by 5,10, 15 or 20%.  With the 8 gigs of RAM I have increased the NB voltage to1.4
