HP Pavilion Elite HPE-020pl; Prod. ID: VS333AA - power supply

Hello.

I'm reading this specification:

https://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01949141&tmp_track_link=ot_faqs/top_issues/en_...

but there is nothing about the producer or model of the power supply. Is there a possibility to get knowledge about it?

And second question. If I want to change my power supply, which manufacturer should I choose to this computer. It must be good for next few years.

Regards

RadnoK.

Re: HP Pavilion Elite HPE-020pl; Prod. ID: VS333AA - power supply

This is a 3.5 year old model with HP part # 5188-2863  --  Power supply - Regulated 460W power output, power factor correction (Bordeaux). This power supply is most likely made by Bestec or one of several other manufacturers for HP. Open the case and look at the power supply to determine the brand.

Please consider the Corsair CX500, CX600, CX500M, or CX600M as a replacement.

Are you sure that power supplys that you wrote about will be good to this almost 4 year old computer?

Re: HP Pavilion Elite HPE-020pl; Prod. ID: VS333AA - power supply

YES, the CX500, CX600, CX500M, and CX600M will work perfectly in your computer. Please see this HP forum search of CX500. You will notice that almost every post indicates the flawless use of the CX500 in HP consumer class computers. These power supplies are at home in HP computers older than yours, the same as yours, and newer than yours. You really can't go wrong with one of them.

Re: HP Pavilion Elite HPE-020pl; Prod. ID: VS333AA - power supply

Can you give me any other power supplies that march to my PC? Corsair CX500(M)/600(M) are not avaible im my country (Poland) so I can't buy them. I need a good replacement for my old default power supply.

The Coolmaster GX550 or GX650 are shown on the Coolmaster Polish website and should be available in your region.

Re: HP Pavilion Elite HPE-020pl; Prod. ID: VS333AA - power supply

But aren't they too strong for my PC components? My power supply is 460W and those which you wrote about are 550/650W. Isn't it to much for old components?

Re: HP Pavilion Elite HPE-020pl; Prod. ID: VS333AA - power supply

Power supplies supply power in response to a need, they don't push power to the components. The computer components draw power from the power supply as needed. If, at the moment, your computer only needs 200 watts, then a 500 watt power supply will only supply 200 watts. Why have a 500 to 650 watt power supply? While the reasons are varied, most often it is to power a gaming class graphics card. Also for "peak" usage (sometimes hardware will require sudden "bursts" of power, such as at start up or under high load) and for future expansion."

A 500 to 650 watt power supply isn't "too much" for the "old" components in your computer.

Please send KUDOS to show your appreciation
