Purchased a HP Pavilion p6-2180ea Desktop (Intel Core i5-2320 Processor 3.3GHz, 6GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Windows 7 Home Premium) today from amazon and it looks grate but the wireless card is defective It can only manage 1 bar and 6% and peeps dropping connection

Did you attach the antenna? See section 5:
