HP Pavillion Elite e9180f Ram issue

I just got a new HP e9180f out of the box I went to win7 64bit. I have an msdn account so it a legal copy before anyone asks.  Now in the bios and in windows it shows up with 6 gigs of ram but when you run cpuID it shows 9gig more to the point the PC comes with 9 gigs of ram.  I am kind of at a lose as to how to get the missing ram to show up.  All signs point to a update to the BIOS should fix it.  But sadly I see none on the support page for this product.   any help?

TIA

Re: HP Pavillion Elite e9180f Ram issue

I have an m9450f which comes with 8gb DDR2 6400 ram and it was shipped with Vista 64bit and I had no issues.  I uped to Win 7 HP 64bit and it is all still there.  Not sure what to tell you.  Do you have a Sound Blaster sound card installed or are you using onboard sound?  A firend has a custom build and has 4gb ram and with the soundcard installed he only has 3 and if he tweeks it to make it say 4 then the sound is messed up, but with it out there is 4gb.  Just a thought.
