Hi,
A power supply in the range of 500-600 watts should be plenty. The Corsair CX500 or CX600 are excellent power supplies.
The Sapphire 6870 1GB is a good choice. $145 after rebate. The card length is 8.5". The slot adjacent to the PCI-E x16 slot needs to be vacant.
My e9280t in my signature is nearly the same as your e9180t. There is not a lot of room inside these cabinets so chosing a shorter video card is wise.
These HP 'how-to" articles should be helpful. Install the power supplu first and get your PC stable before installing the video card.
TIP: Remove the front bezel (cover) and unlatch the optical drive and move it forward before you remove and replace the PSU. It will make the installation easier. The cables of the new PSU will be longer so find an empty bay and tuck them away to improve air flow.

Hi,
Yes there are many other choices depending on the application requirements. What are your most demanding video applications? Do you have a price range in mind?
The below list of NVIDIA video cards has the most expensive and fastest at the top and the lowest cost and slowest at the bottow.

New video card wont help you any. These computers are POS period. I had my mobo replaced under that deal and its worse than the original one. It still blue screens. HP is awful and horrible customer service. I will not be buying HP any longer after 15 years or buying their stuff. It's pure junk now and they take the money and run!!! BEWARE!
