Hello,
I've recently received a HP Pro 3400 mt (ProductNumber: LH121EA)
I installed a fresh Windows7 on the computer. When starting installing Drivers, I got stuck at the network controller.
It seems the driver is downloaded from the HP Support website, isn't compatible with the actual Network Controller?
I've been tryin to find any more info over the web but couldn't find anything special about this issue.
Hopefully someone here can help me out.
Kind Regards
Sebastien

Hi, Sebastien:
Please go to the device manager and click on the network controller needing drivers.
Then click on the details tab. In the properties drop down list, select the second item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see in the window.
Those will identify the model network card you have and I can try and find the correct drivers for it.
Also please let me know if you need them for the 32 or 64 bit version of Windows 7.
Paul

Hi Paul,
First of all thanks for replying!
I just checked for those Hardware ID's.
Following is what I got:
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_2ABF103C&REV_06
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_2ABF103C
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&CC_020000
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&CC_0200
Also the installation should be for a Windows 7 64-bit version, my appologies if I forgot to add it on the previous post.
Kind regards
Sebastien

You;re very welcome, Sebastien.
The device ID you posted reveals the network controller to be a Realtek PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Family Controller.
Below is the link to the driver page for it direct from Realtek. Download and install the 5th driver on the list
Best Regards,
Paul

Hi Paul,
That would probably be it. Let me try that out and I'll get back when done.
Might be tommorow though.
Anyways Many thanks!
Regards
Sebastien

Superb, my problem with NIC driver is gone.
But I cannot understand why on the support web page is unusable driver...
BTW today the name of the correct driver is Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program (SID:1497589).

I have this model hp pro 3500 i3 with system windows 7 ultimate. I tried to install additional network card interface on each slot pci-e x1,x2 and x3 but the system did not recognized it. I tried to check the bios settings for this device it's fine all is enable. I tried reset the bios hoping the problem will solve but it's same problem. I wonder this this model didn't working while you add device on its slot pci- express. So in a long test I got my old HP DX6100M model in my office it has also pci-e slot inside. I tried to install this network card from this computer and it's working it's detected on the system. while the new model hp 3500 is not. what going on this model? my company bought this model 30 pcs and the reason why I add network card is to connect another devices to our network in different ways. I hope somebody give a solution for this issues its big appreciated.
