If you have evidence of this, I would complain and demand a replacement....as the Q6600 has a huge difference in FSB and cache..and etc. As for a warranty seal...I doubt there's one, as most companies don't care about those because they have end-user replaceable/upgradeable parts.
Have you made sure it's your unit? Is your data still there? Do the serial numbers match up?

Yes, the computer is mine and I've spoken with HP most of the day and they are not budging on helping me.
My problem is getting the evidence. HP just told me there are no warranty seals. All my data was returned intact on the hard drive so I'm really at a loss as to how I can win this. If the BIOS stored a history log, I would have a golden case. As it is, I have just about exhausted any way to prove that my processor was changed under HPs watch. Open to any suggestions.
If I get the evidence I will certainly file a claim. Thanks.

Hmm.
Try calling the HP Corporate offices and speak to someone there, tell them that tech support isn't letting you send the PC back in to get the right processor (which is what the warranty provides for, not necessarily a PC replacement). They should be able to figure something out.
