I have a model p6320y.
Here's my issue:
The computer boots up and never makes it to any windows boot screens, instead it boots quickly past the blue HP setup screen and into a dos screen with the wording:
"Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key"
When I restart I go into diagnostic mode from the blue HP screen and the only failure on the test is the harddrive, giving me an error BIOHD-2 and a blurb about harddrive failure.
Here is what I have done to trouble shoot:
1. Switch the cables connected to the HD to rule out cable failure - no change
2. Replaced the HD with a new one and restarted computer ensuring that the boot mode was set to CD first and placed a windows 7 disc into the drive. - The CD drive did not boot (but it has power and ejects) and computer did the exact same thing as mentioned above.
3. I placed the "broken" HD into another desktop and the HD works fine. I am able to explore the HD.
So, it doesn't sound like a HD failure. I have ruled out the HD and the cables actually being malfunctioned. Is there anything else I should test before getting a new mobo? Could there by anything else causing this besides the mobo? Anything I should try?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Check to make sure that your CD media will actually boot in another PC.
Switch to a different SATA port for the hard drive as a test.
Does the hard drive spin up? What is the make, model number and size of the new hard drive?
