HP wont fully power up

My HP powers on.  The Hard Drive spins, the CD Rom cycles on, all fans power up BUT nothing occurs.   The Monior immediately goes into sleep mode as it is not recieving any signal. 

 

This all began when clicking through some facebook pictures....then monitor went to sleep...poof dead.  I was able to start it u with F10.  Started it in safe mode and checked drivers etc... All seemed fine.  Tried to normal restart...nothing.  Did F10 again.  It aked if I wanted to run Recovery but since I had not  backed up m most recent items I refused.  Then it went blank again...monitor slept and since then nothing...just what I wrote above.  Any ideas, suggestions etc... would be greatly appreciated.
