Hi there!  I am NEW!

Since purchasing my HP BQ466AA-ABL s5510f (64), OS= Windows7, I have been hearing a winsome little whistle about 20 times per day.  Every time I hear it, I assume I am needed by the Support System.  Nothing however, is ever wrong when I answer this whistle!

Any suggestions?

Thanks very much

Hi Jim and welcome to the HP forum.

I think I'd like more details about this whistle. Is it literally a whistle, like a system sound going off or are you talking about the "type" of sound the machine is making, like a high pitched mechanical sound coming from inside the machine? If it's the later, then it's likely the system fan spinning up into a higher mode to keep the system cool.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi there again, friend!

No, it is nothing as to a human whistle, or something a train would give forth, but a very mild, almost birdlike whistle, which is surely the HP Support Assistant's doing.  Whenever it whistles that way, I know to click the support "?", and it always tells me to make sure Maintenance is being done!

I check, and consistently, there is a check done, without any suggestion as to what needs to be done!  I am simply sick to death of hearing this whistle.

I know this is the reason, for I started backing-up my hard drive with that same whistle seeking after that in the beginning.

Thanks,

Jim
