setup: HP Pavillion p7-1370t
Windows 7
Carmel motherboard (single channel architecture)
I want to upgrade to 8GB but am having trouble picking a good 2 x 4GB set and at the same time wondering on the performance of dual-channel memory on a single channel board...fer starters:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8
Will this work, and will it be operating a maximum capacity?
thanks in advance..

Hi,
The memory you have selected
"G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL"
will work fine as per the memory configuration of your PC.
Memory Must select one of the following options:
- 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 (runs at PC3-10600 with Sandy Bridge processors)
- 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 (runs at PC3-10600 with Sandy Bridge processors)
- 6 GB (1 x 4 GB, 1 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 (runs at PC3-10600 with Sandy Bridge processors)
- 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 (runs at PC3-10600 with Sandy Bridge processors)
this link will help you in knowing about upgrading memory.
