I have an HP p6310; is the power supply (300 watt) standard ATX size (3.4 x 5.9)?

I'd like to upgrade the wattage of my 300 watt PSU so that I can use my old Radeon 5770 in my HP p6310y. I have an 800 watt XtremeGear PSU (I know, crappy brand) that had been powering it just fine in another computer. My question is, is there anywhere I can find out the dimensions of the existing 300 watt PSU in my HP and/or find the physical maximum size PSU that will fit in the computer? I had a friend measure it (I'm disabled and can't get at the guts of the computer) and he says that the 800 watt might be a little too big. I'm getting an IceQ Turbo Radeon 6950 for my other computer next month and I'd like to upgrade the HP at that time.

Thanks for your help,

Ferd

Ferd,

The HP power supply is for the most part a standard ATX sized unit. The 5.9"(W) x 3.4"(H) dimensions are correct and will fit. The problem is in the length the power supply. Anything over 5.5"(L) may interfere with the motherboard and/or CD/DVD drives and/or the associated cabling.
