I'm having trouble reinstalling an HP Officejet J4680 wireless.

The printer has been installed and working wireless for a long time, but I had to do some desktop troubleshhoting and ended up uninstalling the printer.  Now I'm trying to resintall the HP Officejet J4680 all-in-one again and unable to get it to install the wireless mode.  I'[ve used the latest drives and printer  diangnostic tools on teh HP site, but no the wireless connection is not working.  I'm rewady to start from scratch, but what drive and tools will work? I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.

Appreciation for any help.

Hello kennyh, Have you tried using the wireless setup from within the Control panel.

Try going to the Control Panel, Devices and Printers, and in the menu bar at the top of the small window, select Add a printer. Then select Add a Network, wireless, or bluetooth printer.

The Utility will search for any available printers that are in these categories and online.

If it finds any, it should then be setup for use.

OMG, it worked instantly.  Thanks.  HP instructions and wizard tools took me on a wild goose chance.

Hello kennyh, That just made my day. I'm probably as happy as you are.

Sometimes the Wizard Tools are generic in nature and don't really deal with specific issues.

I noticed there are 4 updates and other software downloads available.

You may want to check these and see if you may want to download and install these as well.

I noticed at least one mentioned enhancements for the wireless capabilities.

Ah, this exe is where I have the problem with configuring my printer.  I tired it again and is messed up the printer configuration, again.  The exe has a problem installing the software and goes through some analysis and fix that doesn't work.  I've opened an case with HP over it now.
