I need to reformat my HP Pavilion Slimline s7600n's hard drive, but there's a couple problems.

In October 2011 my HP caught a popular Windows XP virus. The virus made it to where I can login into any account on my computer, but as soon as I log in it logs me back out. I had decided to do a system recovery with disks that I had thought were the right ones, turns out they weren't and it corrupted my Recovery Program. I am wanting to sell this PC, but need to know if it's still possible to format the hard drive so I can sell it as used instead of for just parts.

Hi:

You can order a set of recovery disks for it from this vendor at the link below if HP doesn't have them for your model.

If you ever run across that nasty malware again, you can try this method to get rid of it.

Or download and burn to a CD the free Kapersky rescue CD and it will scan and remove the problem without you needing to even be in Windows as the antivirus program boots and runs from the CD.
