For the IQ700 series

If you're running Windows Vista SP2, there is a patch for USB patch for NVIDIA chipsets

If you're running Windows 7, install this patch

IQ775. Similar issue: after the first power on of the day there is no wireless adaptor in device manager. Reboot and the adaptor is present and works fine until the next cold start. Will review answers in this thread and advise if I solve it.

Re: IQ770. I keep losing my network adapter hp 802.11 abg wirelee LAN

I have a simpler solution to the aggravating (and known to HP) wireless driver problem. You can restore the driver only so many times, then it won't work any longer. Purchase a powerline network adapter (NetGear makes one). You'll need to purchase one more than the number of computers you are going to hook up to it. (I have two IQ770s, so I purchased three adapters.) You plug the boxes into wall outlets. Plug one network cable into one box, then plug the machine network cables into the other adapters in other rooms. The network now runs through your electrical system. You no longer need the wireless driver. Been working fine for me for a year. So glad to have my machines back and running the Internet!

The information that "you can only reset the driver so many times before it no longer works" is inaccurate. Reseting/reinstalling the driver does not make the wireless card stop working over time as suggested in the previous post.

An issue with the wireless not connecting, from the beginning is either a software issue that can be corrected with the right driver version being installed successfully (this may take a couple of tries possibly with different versions), or a hardware problem meaning the card will need to be reseated or replaced.

Sorry. Did ALL that. Eventually, the result was the same. My solution worked and saved me hours of gritting my teeth and swearing.
