I've had nothing but problems with the media center since I purchased the computer (m9150f). The TV tuner wasn't recognized by the computer, I took it out and found, with the aid of a magnifying glass, a burned spot, HP replaced it with no problems. Setting up the IR and getting the computer to "read" the cable box has been a chore, it worked sometimes at best.... Finally the dog chewed the cable, the one that goes from the cable box to the rear of the computer (IR port)..... Now I can't get "Media Center to work at all", as far as TV is concerned..... I've spent more than an hour and a half with HP support, parts, techs, etc, etc. try to get another cable ordered.... What is there problem, there is no part number for the "IR sensor cable", the help they have seems totally lost.......... I know I'm not the only one with this problem, there are many people complaining about this setup. Has anyone found a source for the cable, I've tried some online supply stores with no luck..... ANY help would be appreciated...... (The mini plug on the sensor is red, it has 4 seperate sections. The other end has the "sticky" sensor that attachs to the IR on the cable box)
Thanks

I have a similar problem in that I cannot locate the remote sensor cable from the original packaging. I'd like to set up Media Center, but of course, this is failing on the IR portion of the setup.
Do I need to have the sensor cable? And if so, what is the correct replacement part I need? I have the original remote, and it works otherwise.
Thanks!
Michael

not sure if you still need one but I came across this wire and looked it up to see what it was for before disposing of it. I realize it came with my old computer. Have no use for it. Willing to give it to you if still needed.

If you are talking about the cable outside the PC, from the back of the PC to the cable box that has the IR emitter on the end of it, I have several of these now, so thanks anyway. None of these have seemed to work, so I believe there is an issue with either the cable inside the PC or the the connections (soldered) on either end.
I've never been able to get this PC to change the channels on the cable box no matter how I've tried. No matter software I've tried, the IR function is never recognized during setup, which has been really frustrating.
