I have just finished a migration to a new HP Pro3400 Series MT with O/S Win7 Professional and with Virtual XP installed.
The printer on the old computer showed ink levels and also delivered test sheets to align by alpha/numeric codes.
Since the migration to the new system, I am not getting a reading on the ink levels and although cartridge alignment is currently fine, I am not able to align the cartridge. Other than that, the printer is working fine.
I have run a Troubleshoot and the printer is working fine.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and updated the drivers to Windows 7 and the issue persists.
If anyone has any recommendations short of buying a new printer, I would greatly appreciate direction and advice.
Many thanks
(As an aside, how difficult would it be to create a Windows 7 driver for an HP Scanjet 4400c?)

Silverback_381,
Welcome to the user forums. The Win7 OS installs a basic driver. There are work-arounds for you.
The last known driver for that scanner was XP.
Did you try the Virtual XP mode for that old scanner? No guarantee.
