Just a wee bit upset

Ordered replacement power supply for my e9180t as the fan was going out on the old one.

New one is missing P3, P5, P6 and P10, the original type drive power connectors. My video card requires these. They were on the original.

 

This is a 460 watt supply, cost me $115 to get it. Nice service, came in next day. Now my computer is TU. I live on that computer, it runs my business...so here I am, Friday evening with a 100% HP replacement part that isn't right. I might as well taken my chances buying an unknown.

 

I'd swap the fan but the new is a different design and does not have the same style fan.

 

I've worked in electronics over 30 years,  never had a computer manufacturer send the incorrect replacement before.

 

Anyone have any good suggestions? I just need the +5 and +12....I don't want to hack up the new cable but, I can't afford to be without computer all weekend.

 

To say I am just a little unhappy would be putting it very mild.

Hi,

 

If the new PSU is not correct then return it.  Go with a Corsair CX500 or CX600.
