Your monitor has a VGA (analog) input port and a HDMI (digital) input port. Depending on the MacBook Air model you own, your computer should have an Apple ThunderBolt / Mini DisplayPort output on it. To use your HP monitor, you will need to purchase a Mini-DisplayPort-to-HDMI cable (best choice) or Mini-DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter (second choice).
