Hello, I have an hp pavilion a1623w that recently stopped working. After trial and error and physical inspection I found that the motherboard had several swollen capacitors, all other peripherals work including ram and cpu. I found a replacement mother board on the internet that came from a compaq computer. It's working fine but I wondered if I could flash the bios available on hp's support page onto this mother board. It's the same hardware revision as my old motherboard. The only real sifference is that the OEM logo isn't hp anymore it's compaq. Would this bios change be possible or would it ruin this motherboard?

I would not advise it. It's working, and your system is stable. If you brick the BIOS, it's dead.
