I posted earlier on having a problem with my e9180t. I found out the IPMTB-TK motherboard is the problem. So, what is the best replacement to use, also, where can I find instructions on how to take out the old one?

It is recommended to replace the motherboard with the same motherboard due to the following reasons:
1. Right alignment witht the chassis, back panel for ports and all the other hardware bundled with your system.
2. All the drivers are the part of Recovery image and do not need to be reinstalled seperately.
Here is the link that has detailed steps to replace the motherboard and other hardware in your system:

No offense but we shouldnt have to replace motherboards in these POS's. I did the free motherboard replacement that HP offered. These boards are just as bad, it still blue screens weekly. I wont buy any HP's any longer. 15 year customer too. Makes me want to dump and get rid of everything HP I own, its junk anymore.

I agree that we should never have to replace anything that is a manufacturers problem. HP handled this mess very badly. I was one of many that never knew anything about the bad MB.
I haven't quite given up on HP. I have a new system that came last week. Fortunately, I had my 7 yr old HP as backup.
I hated to just ditch the PC because it was under 3 yrs old and had upgrades. I figured if I could fix this for not too much $ I could replace my slow poke backup. I bought a refurb MB and put that in a couple days ago. I did not order the old p/n HP board. The one I got is a Pegatron-Truckee with all the same specs.
So far it is running OK. The only problem is, when I turn it on, I get a system fan failure message, press F2 to continue. When I press F2 it opens Windows. Fans are working and are fairly quiet.
I have noticed through HP and other discussion boards that others are having the same fan failure issue, some are from a few years ago and with different brand PCs.
I ran the hardware diagnostics on it and everything passed. One strange thing, the diagnostics listed my PC as a different model, product and s/n. I guess that's the refurb info, still, it's the same innards as my model.
So, I guess it's just wait and see how long it will work. At least at the moment, I can see what I have on the HDD and print or save to external disk.

Well rather than admit to fault they try to woo you with free printers, coupons, etc which is just an insult to our intelligence. I just recovered from another blue screen. I made sure I posted it on Twitter for all to see though. I'm tired of it and I'm not about to buy another HP, not getting fooled twice. I have the contact info for our representation in the Kent Vs HP case.

The Truckee board I got is a later revision, different than the 1.04E or whatever they replaced it with. I did not order the same p/n as the defective one because I read they also had problems. I had to stay with something as close as possible as the old board to avoid any licensing issues with the Win7 EMO.
There was one slight difference in the boards, the replacement has a slightly higher BIOS.
