I also posted the following as a reply to a previous post, but it doesn't look like I can unsolve that one, and I was worried no one would check a solved post:
I purchased a new hard drive, installed it, and went through all the system recovery steps. The computer seemed to be working once restored, but then not long into my setting everything up, it froze and I had to restart. It has never stayed on for more than 10 minutes at a time since then, and just this last time I even got a message similar to my original problem - BOOTMGR image is corrupt. The system cannot boot.
Any ideas before I need to bring this thing in?

In addition, it seems that the longer it sits unused, the longer it stays on next time it's tried to use. Also, it freezes up in different ways, eithe going completely black, random speckled colors on the screen, or just freezing with the last view still there but nothing working.
