Well the graphics card would result is replacing the motherboard, not something the novice should do and the display is a little easier but still something I would not recommend a novice do. More harm than good could be done.

I located and old monitor and connected the lap top..I get a clear picture,on the monitor, what does that mean?

I tried to reply via the defective lap top and didn't let me for unknown reasons.

If you get a picture on the external monitor, that means the LCD screen is likely bad. This is usually a costly repair.

The part number for the LCD Panel including bezel is 441704-001

The part number for the LCD Panel without bezel is 435787-001

Is this something that I can order and replace my self or should I take it to a shop? What is a Bezel ?

Depending on how savvy you are, I would take it to a professional. The bezel is the cosmetic plastic piece around the monitor.

Well, after a few quotes to have my comp fixed I became "savvy" real quick like. I removed the screen without incident and I'm confident that I can replace the new one.

Here are my new problems for today: I searched on eBay for the specific number,without the bezel, there were about 15 LCD screens. They all ask to make sure the size and resolutions are the same, to find the resolutions I need my computer to be working or ?? can you help again?/

All list a 15.4 size screen and when I measure my screen frame ( the aluminum fixed frame) I only get 13 1/2", even if I measure the entire upper cover I don't get 15.4". Their add is very specific about NO returns for the above reasons. I thought that by ordering the catalog number would be sufficient....? I know you can guide me in the right direction.

My computer is up and running !! After a few emails with an Ebay vendor he assured me the screen to be compatible if the numbers were the same,which they were. Putting the screen back together was a little harder than expected,it was quite a challenge.

I received real good information from Adamtech and I thank you for it.
