Re: Nvidia GTX 590 will not boot up Windows with my new h9-1170t Phoenix

At this point, there is really no need to keep the computer and waste the $2,500.  My computer is running pretty well with the SSD now and my GTX 670 is running very good.

I'll wait for when I really need an upgrade and just build my own custom system next time.  Haven't done that in a while anyway.

The main thing I hate about HP computers (they are great, don't get me wrong) is they come with crappy PSUs and not big enough towers for room for quad SLI.  The motherboard is just too cramped.

The 600w psu in the Phoenix is a high quality one by Delta Electronics. I cant comment on the others. But, I tend to agree with you. OEM's usually use low quality psu's. The tower. It is fine for a single card imo. It just seems you did not do enough research on this machine and just bought it because? Especially you wanting quad sli or sli in general. Its was pretty clear those options do not exist. Maybe in the future. I cant wait to stick a 680 in mine. Just waiting for stock to become readily available.

600W PSU that still doesn't come with multiple 8-pin power connectors for GPUs that require 2 of those (i.e. the 590).  It's also not modular so you have a bunch of wires sticking around that's not needed.

Thankfully the mb allows room to install an aftermarket PSU.

Yeah a 600w psu is certainly not going to power a 690.

Re: Nvidia GTX 590 will not boot up Windows with my new h9-1170t Phoenix

Hi...do you mean 590 or 690? The Phoenix can only have a maximum of 250W discrete graphics card as stated in the specs, right? So, a 680 is the best choice at this point...

It will NOT power a 590 or 690. You would need a bigger psu since those are dual cards. A single 680 works fine though.
