OSD Lockout

A while ago, my HP w2207h monitor had this problem with popping up the integrated speaker volume menu, and decreasing the volume to zero, all on it's own. Then the volume menu would pop up almost constantly even though it was at 0. Now, there is a small white box that pops up that says OSD Lockout, and I can't make it stop.

Re: OSD Lockout

Have you tried holding down the menu button for 10 seconds?

Re: OSD Lockout

Yes , I have exactly this issue as well on the w2207h. I got the first monitor replaced, then it started on the replacement and Tech support said hold the menu button 30 seconds.  Now it is appearing every couple of minutes again.  It appears right in the middle of the screen and is very annoying since it sits on top of everything no matter what.  It sounds like this is could be a general issue with the HP LCD monitors in this series.  Too bad, I love the crispness of the display, but the OSD lockout message issue makes the monitor unusable, so I guess this one goes back too.

Re: OSD Lockout

i have the same problem, and i tried holding the menu button  for 10, 20 sec.  even a minute and that doesn't work. This happens everytime i turn my computer on It just flashes the OSD  Lock-Out box, than brings out a "main Menu" box, and  than screen goes black and than say  "no input signal", also the buttons on the monitor don't work after a few minutes of turning it on, not even the turn off/on button. So any other suggestions on how i can fix my problem? or do u think i have to get a new one?

Re: OSD Lockout

I am actually a similar problem with my HP 1902 LCD monitor.  It's like the menu button is being pressed repeated, and now only comes up with OSD LOCKOUT.

Hi,

Try a monitor reset. Unplug the monitor’s power cord and hold down the monitor’s power button for 30-60 seconds. Plug the monitor back in and power it up. If that doesn’t work then go into the monitor’s menu and do a factory reset.

Check your monitor and cable on another PC as a double check to make sure that the issue is not the PC.  I am fairly sure that this is a monitor issue. Try a "feel" test of the monitor buttons to make sure that the buttons aer not faulty.
