Then that means you need to clear the CMOS as I suggested before.
The chances of both your Hard disk and DVD drive failing at the same are really quite slim. It is a surprise that you are not seeing a checksum error when you try to start your PC.
Clear the CMOS (that efectively resets it) and restart your PC to enter BIOS again.
What are your results after clearing the BIOS?
Best regards,
erico

The results are the same nothing. I know it reset, because the lan is connected to the motherboard and mine is disconnected, because I had to buy a network card.
When I restart I get reboot & select proper boot device or Insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key. I have been getting that all along, but you can not use a windows install disk, because it can not find any drives, because again no drives are installed, I said that in a previous email. Now I need to know will I have the same problem if I purchase the recovery disks from HP. The set I made doesnt work. A new insatll of windows doesnt work, because I have no system image which was on the computer, before the power outage. This is like a new computer with the componenets, but no drivers.

Is your PC still in warranty?
If not, do you have a spare HDD that you can plug in to verify that the motherboard's BIOS is still working?
You can also connect a usb thumbdrive to see if it is recognized. Please post your results. here.

I just order an new hhd. That was the problem. I went into the tower disconnected the hhd reconnected it when it was not recognized I knew it was the hhd. I dont know why I did not think of that from the beginning. I want to thank you so much for all the time and effect you put into helping me. This is why I think HP is the best. Now do you know where I can send the hhd to see if I can recover the data?

You can use External Enclosure to plug your hard driver to it then connected to usb to move all your data like you connect your usb flash driver(hot swappable)
such as
