I have a Pavilion HPE h8xt series computer enroute. I need more USB ports and was wanting to purchase a USB add on card..
The card I am looking at requires power in the form of a SATA cable. I have ordered the 600 w power supply. Will there be an extra SATA power cable available for this card or should I purchase an extension cable?????

Hi,
You might want to wait until your PC arrives and then look to see what type power connectors are available inside the PC. I have seen USB cards that use sata power and other USB cards that use a 4 pin molex adapter.
You probably will have an extra sata power connector if you didn't install 3 HDs and 2 optical drives. Even then your still could use a Y adapter.

I already know (by the description) that the StarTech card has a SATA conector. Was hoping someone had been into their computer and knew what was already available.????

Hi,
StarTech card? Perhaps you should look at the user reviews at Newegg.
Please tell us how you configured your PC and that might give you a clue to what is available inside the PC.
