Have a new Seagate 1tb HDD replacing the exact HDD in my HP Pavilion p6597c, Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit, product No. WW591aA#ABA, with product key computer.

My question is how to partition this new drive to factory specifications. How big C:\ should be how big D:/. Also, where does the OS go, C:/ or D:/?

Have a complete Backup, 7 DVD-R 4.7 GB disks. An addition question have the original setup disks to do a format on the new drive but for, DOS, NTFS?

Re: Post

You will need the Recovery DVD set you made to re-install the OEM licensed WIN 7 Home Premium. It will create the required partitions. If you purchase new DVD's from HP, you will also need this.
