Re: Presario CQ5306UK power problem - not PSU

Hey, thanks for the reply

I've previously tried it, but have got it hooked up again right now with only the PSU, proc and fans connected - no memory, cards or drives, but i'm still getting no reaction on the power switch.

I tried leaving it a while and catching it out as i wandered past, but it's either still faulty or got wise to my plan.

Cunning little devil isn't it? Caught on to you quickly.:smileywink: Realistically, I suppose the only conclusion at this point is a bad motherboard_unless..you have a spare processor to try as a last ditch effort.

Re: Presario CQ5306UK power problem - not PSU

Sadly, i don't have a proc to fit that board, other than the one on it. I've emailed Foxconn, there doesn't appear to be any vendors in the UK that supply boards, so hopefully they'll get back in touch. I've looked at a few other LGA775 boards, but notice the layout of this case is going to limit the board i can replace it with, so if i get no joy with a like for like, it's going to mean some research, but not the end of the world.

Thanks for the help again :smileyhappy:

Re: Presario CQ5306UK power problem - not PSU

Not a bad idea, but i'm in the UK, and it appears Foxconn stuff isn't so commonplace (and still no reply from their head office in... Taiwan is it?).  I'll get my nose into some ebay action later on and see what i can find.  Again, cheers for your time.
