Presario SR1910AN - Upgrading CPU

I have upgraded nearly everything in my Compaq Presario SR1910AN and im now after a new CPU. My current CPU Is Amd Sempron 1.8Ghz and uses/is Socket AM2 (940) and i was wondering if i could upgrade to dual core CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHz Socket AM2 (940) without any issues. I have asked on a few other forums and everyone (except one person) has said yes its fine, But i just want to make sure.
