Re: Raid Issues

a pavillion 6544. kind of sucks though having to pay for a part that is known to have (from what i hear) serious problems :smileysad:

BTW just wondering, but how long has the problem with these drives been known about? Im only asking because in the UK if it has been sold with the fault already on the drive, then the consumer is protected under the Sale of Goods Act of 1979 for a repair or replacement for upto 6 years after purchace of the defective item

well acording to hp uk, there are no reported faults with segate drives. typical lol

while im waiting for this to sort its self out ive decided to buy a new HD for the time being. As my vista was pre loaded onto the bust HD, do i need to buy a new OS again or do i use the discs you from HP you mentioned earlier?

Re: Prevent possible Seagate hard drive crashes!

I have a P6157C which was exhibiting this faillure.  UNtil I found this post I tried resetting the BIOS to factory settings but to no avail.  However, when I tried to load this fix, all I get is the HP Logo Blue screen with the 4 options (system restore, setup, Settings and diagnottics).  It then goes onto start the BIOS and gives me the message Detecting Storage Devices and hangs.  How am I suppose to get around this state when it just sits there and doesn't respond?
