Re: Question about the Hp A6614f desktop computer.

Hi,

The new case should work. The problem, or maybe not really an issue, that you will run into is that you will not be able to get an I/O backplate that will fit. Take a look at the stickies in desktop computers --> hardware and take a read.

The video card is fine. It doesn't require PCI-e power connectors.

Your PSU link doesn't work. Corsair makes high quality PSUs at a reasonable price.

i dont see any sticky about that either....but im pretty sure...but not 100 percent sure your I/O shield plate is pretty standard....if you wanna be sure...i suggest calling HP support and ask them...i did..and they didnt get pissed at me when i told em reason why i swapped chassis....why it may be a good reason to call supposrt is that sometimes on HP machines the VGA port is coverd by a black plastic thing..that makes IO shield plate stick to the mother board..wich makes it harder to install...cause then you have to move motherboard into position with I/O shield on there..look at back of HP pc and see if its coverd...its not screws to remove it so ask HP how to mabe do it...or maybe leave it ther..hear what they say...and make sure antec chassis support mother board you got..think you got micro ATX...but check that also

Re: Question about the Hp A6614f desktop computer.

Hi,

There is no sticky specifically about an I/O backplate. That would actually be a bit of a waste of time.

My explanation  is personal knowlege gleaned through experience.

Normally, people put a fresh manufacturers motherboard out of the box into a new case.

Motherboards come with I/O backplates as an accessory to use in PC enclosures (cases).

What you are doing is not standard so...unless the backplate will come off of your HP case you just won't have a backplate.

Backplates are configured to match port and input locations the rear of a motherboard.

Most of them are slightly different.

I hope that I have clarified it for you.
