S7520N and Driver issue with hl-dt-st dvdrrw gsa-h21l

I have a S7520N and the DVD no longer works or shows up on My Compter.  When checking in the Device manager, it says that the driver is missing or corrupt (Code 39)

Any Ideas?

Should be fairly simple.

Follow the link below to remove the upper/lower filters from the registry, then uninstall the driver from the Device Manager, then restart the computer and wait 2 minutes and viola, should work afterwards.

The Drive is recognized now (Thanks!), but will no longer read new CD-R or DVD-R disks.  Is there something else that needs to be done?

Thanks

I unistalled it in the device manager and then allowed windows to reinstall it and it seems to work.

Re: S7520N and Driver issue with hl-dt-st dvdrrw gsa-h21l

So far you seem to be the only one that solved a driver problem with this burner. I have been trying to lightscribe a DVD with no luck. It will not recognize that they are lightscribe. I cleaned them, updated the firmware, updated lightscribe, updated C++, I have .NET 3.5, checked the registry for everything Microsoft recommended for autorun problems, and ran from Administrator account in case of autorun.inf restrictions, (did a handstand, turned around 3 times, clicked my heels, there's on place...).I cannot seem to find a driver but I did find the firmware update. From a 2006 thread I have the correct driver (5.1.2535.0) but it's dated 7/1/2001 on the device properties window.Do you know if this is the correct one?

These are DVD-R Memorex. I have tried all 20 through the Lightscribe diagnostics. I can send the system info file from the diagnostics if it'll help. I'm going to try another brand since some users say it just won't work with Memorex. (Others disagree.)

Any help is appreciated!
