I purchased a E9120Y from bestbuy the other day and this is now my second desktop in 3 days (first one had a bad bios battery). Ok, onto my question. If I plug in my SATA external, it shows my files (installs correctly). If I try to say transfer a 37 MB (yes MB) file to the C: drive, it will show copying and I let that go for 15 minutes and still nothing. I end up having to turn off the drive. By the way, both drives are NTFS. Now if I plug in my IDE external drive it does allow me to transfer files, but really slow (range from 5.0 MBS to 24 MBS). I know this is a USB 2 drive and case and just so your aware if I plug both drives into my laptop which is XP pro, it appears to run fine.
For windows update I got an error on the NVIDIA network NFORCE netwroking controller update, but I believe that is just for my Ethernet not my drive controllers. The error I got for the update appears that it won't update because it already has a newer version (code 80070103). I have downloaded the drivers from the HP site and will be installing the drivers tonight. The rest of the updates on Vista appear to be done, which is good thing.
Any ideas? Thank you for help.

Updating the drivers from the website for the sata controller did not help. I downloaded the 64 bit windows vista drivers. Any ideas?
