WR, according to the specs for the computer, it does not have SATA capability.  You can review the 'Motherboard Specifications' in the link that I provided under 'Storage'.

Unplug the PC and open it up.  Do you see sata ports?

How big is the hard drive?  Try clearing the CMOS.

Re: ST1500NX trying to add SATA drive

First off what is showing up in the device manager. Is there a sata entry under hardware and is there a device driver loaded to support it? Secondly if there is no entry in the bios perhaps inder IDE or raid devices you will need to specify raid or enhanced or something along those lines. Thirdly if you plan on using a sata device will it not have to be the boot drive and that means reloading the entire system and installing the sata drivers from an F6 floppy install.

Re: ST1500NX trying to add SATA drive

Clear CMOS.  The boot into the bios (setup) and see if your new sata hard drive is recognized by the bios.
