Can I install a SSD Sata III drive in a HP h8-1050 computer?

You would be better off installing a SATA2 SSD.
I do not know why HP did not state which SATA the motherboard is capable of in the specifications.

Hi,
SATA III is backwards compatible to SATA II. However, you have no worry as the Chicago motherboard in the HP h8-1xxx series models support SATA III.
