Solid Red Light on Memory Card Reader

[ Edited ]

I recently added a Blu-Ray burner to my m9360f and after putting the case back together I noticed a solid red light in the middle of the memory card reader. It was never on before. Is it supposed to be on? I put a SD card in the reader and pictures loaded up. I'm not sure if perhaps when closing the case I moved the LED into the correct position.

Does anyone else have this?

Re: Solid Red Light on Memory Card Reader

Hi,

The memory card reader on the computer has a inbuilt infrared receiver for the remote which has lit up in your case as I suppose which is normal.

You may want to review this document from hp for further information about the chassis.

It was never lit up before. Not until after I installed a Blu-Ray burner in the expansion bay. I went to Best Buy and saw another HP Pavilion and it was not lit.

Re: Solid Red Light on Memory Card Reader

I've had this problem. A work around is to hit the "OK" button on your remote, in the middle of the direction tabs on the top. That usually stops the light. It will come back on once in a while, but just do the same thing to remedy it. It's annoying, but not too big of a deal.
