Hello, I have a stock e9220y
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
I bought a HD radeon 6670 to upgrade my graphics performance, I've asked on several forums whether or not I should upgrade my PSU, on the AMD site it says 400w min, but mu PC has a low power CPU and apparently doesn't draw much power to start with. It uses a Liteon model PS-5301-08HA PSU now rated at 300w. Also, if I were to buy a new PSU I want to buy one that will fit with no problems. Would this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8
Thank you

Yes, the CX430 will fit in your HP e9220y. You may also wish to consider to the Corsair CX500 or CX600 if you want a little more headroom for expansion.

I appreciate the answer to my second question, but do you know if I even need a PSU upgrade?

Have to agree, the 500W as a minimum.
The stock 300W PSU actually sustained rating is a mere 268W.
The Corsair 430W is it's sustained value.

Yes, the PSU needs to meet the minimum system power requirement of the graphics card. If it doesn't, the system may not boot, may boot but not enter Windows, may boot and enter Windows but crash later.
